Welcome to Éclat
This one’s for the shop-window oglers, axing trends, Ganni's must have piece (and dupes)
Hello! Welcome to Éclat, the newsletter for shopaholics with expensive taste - but rent to pay.
If you’re digitally exhausted from doom scrolling for inspo, unsure how to distinguish the micro trends to skip from the classics that are “financially savvy” to invest in (aka. you subscribe to the laws of Girl Math), this is the community for you.
Éclat is your secret source covering fashion and lifestyle edits, favourite interior finds and travel recommendations, littered with musings and all the things I find interesting - delivered straight to your inbox. Mindless scrolling minimised.
Éclat is not only for your fashion dose; it’s for the ambitious, goal-setters, and enthusiasts who want to tap into practising gratitude and live with intention.
We’re about uncovering our “why” and cultivating our most fulfilled life, whatever that may look like. And most importantly - have FUN together.
Do I really need it?
This one’s for the certified shop-window oglers, with a laptop at home imploding beneath hundreds of tabs containing treats to revisit at the end of each month (but later kiss goodbye thanks to council tax).
We’re all familiar with that inward smile when bagged-up goodies are placed in hands at the tap of a card, and perhaps that relationship with Shopify that’s become a little too intimate.
The reality is, you don’t need those items in tab jail. This newsletter collates the special finds that surpass the trends of the moment and identifies the pieces that can elevate your existing wardrobe and continue to wear for years to come.
We’re in an era of ceaseless “when” mentality. When I have this, I’ll be:
Happy
Successful
Enough
But no, your Rhode kit won’t give you a Hailey Bieber face transplant - yet this is always such a rude surprise?
It’s no wonder - as soon as you check your Instagram feed, what used to be your friend’s monthly photo dump is now layers upon layers of marketing.
Rather than falling for the “It Girl” trap and chasing the next big thing, it’s time to rediscover what YOU like. Éclat is about nurturing your style and re-wiring the brain’s instant gratification thrills.
Éclat will help you be more fussy and selective, injecting chic into your wardrobe without acquiring ten new poor-quality items each month that fall to the bottom of your drawer.
For a flavour, continue onwards to the piece of the week.
If I could, I would…
For the fresh finds, big treats (card permitting), wardrobe inspo, and high-street treasures.
Ganni’s Rinse Denim Fitted Blazer, £295
Indeed, Ganni is the moment. We’re finally seeing the back of skin-tight neutrals and? joggers? Replaced by baloon sleeves, frills and prints in every colour under the sun. THIS is your call for self-expression, and dressing for the girls.
I’ve yet to source a piece from Ganni as I weigh up it’s prints versus longevity against my disposable income. But the feminine fit of this jacket is chefs.kiss..
Double denim is never ‘out’ - look for slim fits, hard-line structures and silhouettes for a polished look.
Style with any pair of white or blue wash jeans from your wardrobe (or if you’re really lucky, the matching set). This denim piece alone, or as a co-ord, is something you can re-wear again and again and again.
Dress this blazer up or down with your favourite pair of trainers, mules (Zara), sling-back heels, or liven up with some leopard-print loafers (Zara).
Accessorise with this silver Emmie top handle bag (Whistles) for the day, and switch it up in the evening with a small handheld clutch (like this pink one from the Whilstes X Hai Elsie collection) to juxtapose the bold sleeves and draw the eye back to the blazer’s silhouette.
For our resident magpies: let the fit do the talking by going necklace-free or opting for some demi-fine layers. To make a statement, it’s all in the earrings. Check out:
Heaven Mayhem: Double Knot Mixed Earrings - if we’re mixing denim washes, why not mix our metals?
Missoma X Lucy Williams: Medium Chunky Ridge Hoop Earrings - of the same ilk with the 80s bold shoulder
Bella Hugo: Double Heart Earrings - my current go-to. Pssst, shop for a fraction of the price on Amazon. It’s too late for me, but not for you.
Credit where credit’s due: you can find the real deal at Aurem for their Marie earrings. They currently have a generous 50% off sale on their archive. I’ve got my eyes on the Isla starfish and Bernadette shell earrings.
The possibilities are endless, so your cost per wear would certainly make the Ganni Rinse Denim Fitted Blazer a worthwhile staple and smart investment. Girl Math.
The review: Naturally, I had to visit Ganni on Kings Rd to try it myself.
As expected, this jacket is now on the top of my wish list.
Initially, I tried the snow wash (top left) - a better choice if you have more of an affinity with black/grey wash jeans, but was fun to mix and match. To note - the snow wash blazer is slightly shorter than the blue rinse.
Design & Fit: Ganni describes it to fit true to size, designed for exaggerated shoulders and fitted waist. Bust permitting, I recommend sizing down to get that extra nip on the waist. For reference, I’m 5”4, usually a size UK 8-10, wearing a UK size 8 (36 EU) in the blue.
It’s all in the details: the collar is marvellous for either styling relaxed and open, or closed for a Tudor square cut high neck, adding a new level of sophistication.
Out of your tax bracket? I’ve got you covered. Some wonderful pre-loved Ganni pieces are popping up constantly on Vinted at a reasonable price. Get it or it’s gone!
High street finds for a reimagined look
For those who want the look for less, these fabulous options emphasise the all-important hourglass shape, including tie-waist belts, and emphasise power-dressing with statement collars.
My top 5 picks:
Pull and Bear: Fitted Denim Jacket £45.99 { DUPE ALERT }
Anthropology: Seventy + Mochi Willow Long-Sleeve Denim Utility Jacket, £130
Alternatives:
River Island: Blue Fitted Denim Blazer, £65 - for more of a typical blazer style

PAIGE: Kimber Belted Denim Jacket, £152 (sale price)

That’s all for now folks! Until next time x
